Erik Ringelberg
Regional Vice President - California
Erik Ringelberg brings more than 25 years of experience as a consultant and environmental scientist to The Freshwater Trust. Prior to joining our team, he worked for several geotechnical engineering companies, including BSK Associates and Wallace-Kuhl Associates, as well as the nonprofit Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe. Erik’s work focused on identification and resolution of technical issues, NEPA/CEQA documentation, and permit development/compliance, and lake and river restoration. He’s received grant funding from many government entities, published articles on California’s water crisis, been invited to speak at conferences on a wide range of topics, and served on technical advisory committees, regional water planning commissions, and watershed and wetland councils. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Colorado State University and a master’s in Environmental Science from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He also completed his comprehensive exams in Riparian and Wetland Ecology at the University of Montana. As the Regional Vice President – California, Erik leads the organization’s business and program efforts in the Golden State. When not in the office, Erik enjoys mountain biking and hiking in the back country.
