Blue Sky Habitat Program Set To Help Oregon Watersheds

Pacific Power said its Blue Sky program has steered $128,000-plus toward projects managed by The Freshwater Trust this year.
The money will back projects to protect and enhance fish habitat in Oregon’s Rogue, Klamath, Walla Walla and John Day watersheds.
The Blue Sky Habitat program funds will help workers complete the Oregon projects by the end of the year.
“In our third year of administering the Blue Sky Habitat program, we have seen significant investment in river restoration from Pacific Power customers,” said Joe Whitworth, The Freshwater Trust’s president, in a statement.
“Because healthy rivers are vital to both the environment and the economy, we applaud the efforts of this program and look forward to the benefits unfolding in Oregon’s waterways.”
