We are committed to the work it takes to achieve our mission of restoring freshwater ecosystems. Our team is passionate about finding creative ways to fix entire watersheds so that wild fish and other native species can thrive, and so local water resources are healthy enough to support local communities and sustain economies.
We know that fixing rivers requires working through real, on-the-ground issues, and that the problems we’re facing will not be solved by one organization alone. We are committed to sitting at the table with anyone seeking to make a positive impact for freshwater — or building a whole new table if needed. Our work is proof that agriculture, strong communities, and healthy rivers can and should coexist.
We understand that the way things have always been done may not be the way forward. Leading with curiosity allows us to find creative solutions to water management challenges. Those solutions will be based upon the biological needs of each watershed and will be informed by the needs of water users and water management stakeholders.
The nature of our work requires us to ask and answer challenging questions while remaining engaging and respectful. We strengthen our relationships by building trust through care, support, and empathy. We cultivate belonging even through our differences. How we work internally fosters how we work externally.
We take our work seriously. But we also know that we are better at our jobs when we are able to pursue our individual interests, hold space for self-care, and be present with friends and family. Spending time away from our desks fuels creativity and reminds us why we work so hard. We support our colleagues to ensure these breaks are possible.
