McCailin Wunder
Strategic Philanthropy Director
McCailin joins The Freshwater Trust with years of experience in nonprofit and higher education fundraising. Beginning her development career at the University of Virginia, McCailin specialized in securing private and public support for university arts programs. Growing up in Portland, her passion for environmental stewardship manifests from her formative experiences as an Outdoor School Student Leader at the Sandy River site and as an educator for the Oregon Zoo. As the Strategic Philanthropy Director, McCailin connects philanthropic passions to TFT’s mission of preserving and restoring waterways. McCailin earned her undergraduate degree in Anthropology from the University of Oregon and enjoys exploring coastal forests, her weekly volleyball games with friends, and participating in networks of community care.
McCailin’s Why: I work at TFT because it is an organization that understands the urgent imperative for systemic change, and works relentlessly to see that transformation within our lifetime. And I stay at TFT because I am inspired by its people – staff and supporters alike – every single day.
