Green Infrastructure
What is The Freshwater Trust doing here?
The Freshwater Trust (TFT) is working with Colorado municipalities to analyze water quality issues, such as rising water temperatures. By using its patented analytic tools, TFT can create different models that show stakeholders which actions will deliver the most significant environmental benefit at the lowest possible cost, including where green infrastructure and restoration projects offer more impactful, cost-effective solutions than typical gray infrastructure approaches. TFT can adjust its models to provide compliance options that best align with specific goals, financial concerns, and additional criteria. Each municipality can then use these analyses to guide the development and implementation of water quality protection programs.
Why is this important?
Low flows and high temperatures are impacting the health of many rivers. Using our patented technologies, including BasinScout® and other modeling software, TFT can help communities and water managers determine the most effective environmental actions—such as restoring riverbank vegetation to create shade—to address these water quality issues.
How can you support these efforts?
One key way to support our efforts is through donations. TFT ensures that every dollar you give delivers measurable results that will make a difference.
You can also support us by subscribing to our newsletter and following or sharing our updates on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to help drive meaningful freshwater conservation.
