Manage Water Conservation
What is The Freshwater Trust doing here?
On Colorado’s West Slope, The Freshwater Trust (TFT) is partnering with the Colorado River District to boost agricultural and ecological resilience to climate change.
We are also working with the largest irrigation district in the state to design programs that conserve water, strengthen agricultural productivity, and improve watershed health.
Why is this important?
The Colorado River brings water to seven U.S. states and parts of Mexico. Its path irrigates 5 million acres of agricultural land, serves 30 Native American tribes, and provides more than 40 million people with drinking water.
However, the water is at risk of running out due to climate change and human activity.
With so many people dependent upon the Colorado River to survive, The Freshwater Trust and our partners must work together to find smart solutions that use the existing water more efficiently.
How can you support these efforts?
One key way to support our efforts is through donations. TFT ensures that every dollar you give delivers measurable results that will make a difference in a timeline that matters. You can make a one-time gift or become a regular monthly donor today.
You can also support us by staying connected through our regular newsletter and emails. Sign up today to get the latest TFT news.
