Models for Salmon Recovery

What is The Freshwater Trust doing here?

Using our extensive restoration program experience, The Freshwater Trust (TFT) is partnering with the Puget Sound Partnership to create templated, performance-based project funding frameworks for ecosystem restoration in Puget Sound. These frameworks will advance solutions that effectively accomplish the Puget Sound Salmon Recovery Plan goals, including restoring riparian and instream habitat, increasing water quantity, and improving water temperature.

Why is this work important?

Washington’s Puget Sound suffers from poor water quality, limited river flows, and modified riverbanks and floodplains that degrade the habitat that is essential for native salmon and other important species.

By using an innovative financing approach based on performance, agencies can steer funding for fish habitat and watershed restoration to the most cost-effective actions based on verified outcomes. This will ensure that every dollar spent on improving the Puget Sound results in the greatest amount of benefits.

How can you support these efforts?

One key way to support our efforts is through donations. TFT ensures that every dollar you give delivers measurable results that will make a difference.

You can also support us by subscribing to our newsletter and following or sharing our updates on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to help drive meaningful freshwater conservation.
